Itinerary/Details
Day 1 Juneau, Orca Point Lodge
Meet your Alaskan Dream Representative and enjoy popular Juneau attractions such as the Mendenhall Glacier, Mount Roberts tram, alpine trails and exploring historic downtown Juneau. Next, depart Juneau for a short cruise to Colt Island, and go ashore for a grilled wild Alaska salmon dinner and demonstration at the Orca Point Lodge.
Day 2 Tracy Arm
Enter Tracy Arm early in the morning and spend the day awe-struck by the natural wonders of this narrow, twisting 30-mile-long fjord. Hundreds of waterfalls spill off high granite cliffs, harbor seals rest on ice floes, and the Twin Sawyer Glaciers regularly calve icebergs into the fjord.
Day 3 Hobart Bay
You'll linger all day in this prisitne and remote setting in the great Alaskan outdoor. Here at their exclusive basecamp they have sea kayaks you can paddle, outboard driven two-person runabouts to explore some of the inlets and beaches of Hobart Bay, and two-person ATVs to ride the old logging roads through the lush coastal rainforest. Join your Expedition Leader on nature hikes along the beach and into the forest to learn a bit about the fascinating flora and fauna. All of the activities are accompanied by their trained, friendly staff so even if you've never participated in these activities, you'll be invited along for the fun. All equipment and gear is included!
Day 4 Petersburg
Petersburg is a fishing town established by Norwegian fishermen in the late 1800's. At the Sons of Norway Hall, enjoy a Norwegian Folk Dance show performed by Petersburg's children. You will have time on your own to take a short walk to Eagle Park, explore Sing Lee Alley, or shop downtown.
Day 5 Eastern Baranof, Village of Kake
Cruise the east coast of Baranof Island where you'll spot Humpback whales and other marine wildlife in Chatam Strait. The rusted cliffs of Red Bluff Bay glow in the morning sun as you explore this exquisite wilderness of old growth rainforests, waterfalls, and pristine beaches. Upon arrival in the Village of Kake, a Tlingit elder and four Tlingit dancers will come on board to greet guests and provide a brief history of Kake. Guests will spend approximately 3 hours in the village visiting the "World's Largest Totem", observing a wood carving demonstration, and visiting the Gunnuk Creek Dog Salmon Hatchery Tour & Bear Viewing Platform.
Day 6 Sitka
